Russell Jones and Walker (RJW) has set up a Sharia law team to deal with the surge in client demand for products such as Islamic mortgages.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Aina Khan - who has over 15 years' experience in the field - will be heading up the new unit.
The Manchester-based firm has witnessed an increase in demand for these types of services and this move is an opportunity to exploit this.
As well as handling divorces, individuals will be able to get tailored Islamic marriage contracts, wills, insurance and mortgages.
Ms Khan stated: "It's a pleasure to be part of a team that recognises the importance of offering this specialist service to Muslim and Asian communities."
Next March, she will give a speech in Germany focusing on the implementation of religiously-based rules in western legal systems and the challenge it poses.
It comes after the CIMB Group revealed an upsurge in its Islamic division was part of the reason for a record net profit of 2.9 billion Malaysian ringgits (£580 million) in the first nine months of 2011.
